05.22.2020 - Gary Niemie's 1951 Mercury Convertible. Restyled by Bill Hines, the build incorporates a mix of traditional styling lines with modern luxuries and features. Niemie was a member of the Long Beach Renegades back in the 1950s, and he was known for making teardrop dash knobs for many famous customs, such as Larry Watson's 1950 Chevrolet "Grapevine." Completed around 2004, it features pinstriping work by Larry Watson. Located in Brevard, North Carolina, the car was advertised for sale on Hemmings in May of 2020. The asking price was US $175,000. Modifications include frenched 1956 Packard taillights and airbag suspension. In May of 2020 the car was advertised for sale on Craigslist. 04.09.2020 - Tom Renzulli's 1940 Mercury Convertible. Tom's Mercury was supposedly built from the remains of Johnny Zaro's 1940 Mercury Coupe, an early Barris Kustom originally completed in 1948. In April of 2020, the Renzulli Mercury was advertised for sale at EstateSales.org. Located in Escondido, California it was listed as an online auction with a US $1,000 starting bid. 04.01.2020 - Vancouver Moonglow Clone - Chopped 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air built as a clone of Duane Steck's iconic Moonglow Car Craft cover car. Supposedly built in the 1980s. 03.27.2020 - Frank De Rosa's 1951 Mercury Sedan. Known as the "Mercury 4," the car was advertised for sale on eBay in March of 2020. Located in Palm Springs, California, the old custom was listed without a reserve. The auction ended March 27. 03.26.2020 - Bagged 1940 Ford DeLuxe Coupe. Mechanically everything has either been gone through and is new or rebuilt. Car is driven several times a week and runs nice and cool without any issues. Back then the price estimate was between US $110,00 - $125,000. In March of 2020 it was advertised for sale on Hemmings. Located in La Verne, California, the asking price was US $79,000. 03.26.2020 - Mildly restyled 1955 Ford. Turnkey early 1960s custom. Nosed, decked and shaved for door handles. The front appearance has been upgraded with a fashionable Thunderbird bumper. 03.25.20200 - 1938 Ford Convertible Custom. Old build supposedly restyled in California in 1948. Chopped 3" with an original Carson Top. Paint and interior upgrade in the mid 1980s. 03.20.2020 - 1936 Ford 3-Window Deluxe Coupe. Located in Upland, California, this survivor was advertised for sale on eBay in March of 2020. Originally hot-rodded in the early 1950s, it was parked for an engine swap in 1961. It sat apart until 2017. 49 000 original miles. The auction ended March 24, 2020. Dean Jeffries' 1956 Porsche 356 Carrera. Jeffries advertised the car for sale in Hot Rod Magazine March 1960.
Bob Turgeon's 1957 Ford Thunderbird of Topeka, Kansas. Restyled by Darryl Starbird at Star Kustom Shop, the build was completed in 1959. Known as Le Perle, it won the Sweepstakes and Top Custom Shop Achievement Awards at the NHRA National Championship Custom Car Show in Detroit. The win swept Darryl into national prominence and made him a definite figure to be reckoned with in future championship shows.
