07.31.2020 John North's 1957 Ford - The White Pearl. Iconic Rockville, Connecticut custom originally owned by Choppers of Rockville President John North. North purchased it brand new and had it immediately sent off for a restyling. Later on, the car was owned by famous American singer-songwriter Gene Pitney, who often drove the car himself to his concerts. Shaved firewall. Tapered running boards. Flush style skirts. 350/350. Drop axle front end with newer disc brake kit. 8” rear end with parallel leaf kit lowering blocks. Car recently put together in the garage, driven down the street and back and that’s it. Will need bugs worked out. Has Idaho title that came with the chassis. 04.09.2020 - Tom Renzulli's 1940 Mercury Convertible. Tom's Mercury was supposedly built from the remains of Johnny Zaro's 1940 Mercury Coupe, an early Barris Kustom originally completed in 1948. In April of 2020, the Renzulli Mercury was advertised for sale at EstateSales.org. Located in Escondido, California it was listed as an online auction with a US $1,000 starting bid. 04.01.2020 - Vancouver Moonglow Clone - Chopped 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air built as a clone of Duane Steck's iconic Moonglow Car Craft cover car. Supposedly built in the 1980s. Excellent upholstery work by Dan Chavers of Bend, Oregon. 235 with a 3 speed. Stock running gear. 08.01.1963 - Emil Mardesich's 1951 Mercury of San Pedro, California. The car was advertised for sale in Hot Rod Magazine August 1963. Powered by 1958 Ford engine, it featured a hydraulic clutch, semi-hydraulic lifts, a reworked frame, electric doors and trunk. It was listed with a US $1,295 asking price.
08.01.1963 Gene McClellan's 1959 Buick of Dodge City, Kansas. Gene advertised the car for sale in Hot Rod Magazine August 1963. It had just been restyled for the 1963 season, and the reason for selling it was that he had no time to show it.
Bob Turgeon's 1957 Ford Thunderbird of Topeka, Kansas. Restyled by Darryl Starbird at Star Kustom Shop, the build was completed in 1959. Known as Le Perle, it won the Sweepstakes and Top Custom Shop Achievement Awards at the NHRA National Championship Custom Car Show in Detroit. The win swept Darryl into national prominence and made him a definite figure to be reckoned with in future championship shows.
