A photo of Charlie's 1935 Ford pick up taken in 1948. "Charlie chopped that top himself, along with installing the 1937 Cadillac grill and the 1934 Ford passenger car front bumper," Chuck Edwall told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in April of 2020. Photo by Charlie Grantham, provided by Chuck Edwall.
A front end shot of Charlie's pick up. "The custom work Charlie did on his 35 pick up was done in the late 40's, early 50's. I was only 7 or 8 years old at the time and I remember my uncle Dan, Charlie's father, complaining that Charlie worked on his truck way too much," Chuck recalled. Charlie Grantham was Chuck Edwall's cousin. "He is one of the people who got me interested in cars," Chuck told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in April of 2020. Charlie was 10 years older than Chuck. He grew up in Los Angeles and went to Polytechnic High School. His family moved to San Bernardino, where Charlie became a member of the SCTA Road Runners while he was competing at the dry lakes. Unfortunately, Charlie has passed away, but thanks to Chuck, many of his photos have found their way to the Kustomrama Photo Archive.
