The Kraze Painter is the custom paint alias of Sondre Kvipt, founder of Kustomrama and a dedicated figure in the global traditional hot rod and custom car scene. In 2024, Sondre commissioned Von Franco to design a Kraze Painter Kustomrama design he could use to promote Kustomrama and his Kraze Paint Jobs.

After acquiring a 1951 Ford custom in the summer of 2024, Marius Kristiansen of Dal, Norway approached Sondre to discuss a new paint job. Inspired by the late 1950s style of Larry Watson, Kvipt proposed a flame design for the vehicle. Kristiansen wanted to cover the body in flames, and Sondre agreed he could do it if it could be done in a traditional style. Over two days, Sondre meticulously masked out the flames using 300 meters of line tape. Photo by Marius Kristiansen.
Sondre cranking out a batch of one-off Kraze Painter sweatshirts in his pop-up Kraze Painter Paint Shop. "Brad Masterson once showed me the ropes, so I mixed some of his tricks with my own flavor." In one day, 21 limited-edition sweaters were born, each one inspired by the wild legacy of Ed Roth, Dean Jeffries, Von Dutch, and of course, Von Franco, who drew the badass Kraze Painter design we used. Three fresh Kraze Painter sweatshirts! Once Sondre had the base fades sprayed, he packed them up and drove to Tønsberg, where Jan-Ove Freitag at Jarlsberg Yrkesklær was standing by to screen the Von Franco design on top. "Fingers crossed they’d come out as cool as they looked in my head!" Photo by Sondre Kvipt.
