A photo of Dick Katayanagi from 1945, when he was a senior in High School. At the time he was living in an internment camp in Utah.
Dick photographed Jerry Ledlow's 1952 Ford Tudor for Custom Cars magazine.

Dick Katayanagi was a pinstriper from Sacramento, California. He was also into retailing Candy Paint colors marketed as Custom Mixed Translucent Colors.[1] Dick ran a a custom paint shop in North Sacramento, called Katayanagi Custom Paint, were he did full painting, scalloping and striping. The shop was actually a rented space in a sign shop. David Rolin served as an apprentice to Dick in his shop in the late 1950s.[2]
