Customs by Flash is a custom body shop run and operated by Mark Wojcik.

Customs by Flash is a custom body shop in Howell, New Jersey, operated by East Coast custom builder Mark Wojick. Known for his skills in custom bodywork and paint, Wojick honed his craft under the mentorship of legendary East Coast customizer John Paszik of S & J Auto Styling.

Early Career and Training

Mark Wojick's journey into the world of custom cars began in 1979 when he started working for John Paszik at S & J Auto Styling. At the time, Wojick was a young enthusiast with a 1957 Chevrolet convertible that he wanted to restore and customize. While Wojick had already gained some mechanical knowledge from the local hot rodding community, he sought to perfect his skills in bodywork and paint—essential elements in building standout custom cars.[1]

Recognizing Paszik's reputation as one of the best in the business, Wojick approached him and began working at S & J Auto Styling after school. Initially, Wojick's tasks were limited to sweeping floors and helping out around the shop. However, Paszik gradually began teaching him the foundational skills of custom bodywork, such as brazing and metal shaping, as well as the techniques behind custom paint jobs.[1]

Learning the "Black Arts"

Under Paszik's guidance, Wojick mastered what he described as the "black arts" of custom painting. This included advanced techniques such as applying flames, candy paint, and pearls—signature elements of East Coast custom culture. Over the course of about 10 years, Wojick refined his skills and developed a strong foundation in both traditional and custom car-building techniques.[1]

Customs by Flash

After his formative years working under Paszik, Wojick went on to establish Customs by Flash, his own custom body shop. Wojick's reputation as a skilled and creative builder has roots in the lessons he learned at S & J Auto Styling and his hands-on experience working on classic custom cars.

Today, Customs by Flash stands as a testament to Wojick's dedication to the craft of custom car building and his commitment to preserving the techniques of the East Coast custom tradition.
