1935 Ford 3-Window Coupe owned by Wayne Kennedy of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The coupe was Wayne's first car, and he bought it from Farmer Fishel in Winston-Salem in the mid-1950s. Wayne paid $50.00 for the coupe with intention of making it into a race car for Bowman Gray Stadium. The racing plans changed, and he gave it a Blue paint job using his mother's Electrolux vacuum cleaner with spray attachment. After getting his butt kicked for borrowing the vacuum cleaner, Wayne made it street worthy in 1957-58.[1]

Hot-Rodded Back in the 1950s

Wayne hot-rodded the coupe by installing a 1950 Oldsmobile 303 Rocket engine with a stock '35 Transmission that ran an Olds to Early Ford adapter. It ran a Banjo Rearend with 3.78 gearings, 1940 Ford juice brakes, and a 4" drop reverse eye rear spring with a couple of leaves removed. In 1967, when the release bearing went out, the coupe was parked.[1]

Back in Business

In 2009, Wayne's son, Taylor, got the car back on the road again, after it had been sitting for 32 years. That iteration of the coupe featured a 4" dropped front axle and brand new Firestone wide white bias ply tires.[1]
