Norman Bernier's 1950 Ford
1950 Ford "Ranchero" owned and restyled by Norman Bernier of Norman Bernier's Autobody in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Known as "the Kustom Kart", Norman's Ranchero was built from a $45 wreck. It featured a 4 inch chopped top, a hand-formed grille, rocker panel and rear of cab. The fenders were flaired, and the hood and dash were shaved. The seats were done in red and white, and the floor carpet and hewadliner were custom tailored.[1]
In 1958 Norman's Ford was shown at the National Auto Review. March 4 thru 8, 1959 it was shown at the 9th annual Hartford Autorama. According to the souvenir pictorial from the show, the car had won 9 first place awards and one second in 10 shows. It was valued at $3000.[1]
