Hans Broberg and Kjell Gustad's Dragster
Early Swedish dragster built by Kjell Gustad and Hans Broberg. Known as "Sillarna," Kjell and Lars-Erik built the dragster in their workshop in Skarpnäck, and it is known as the first dragster in Sweden. In 2015 CG Björk told Kustomrama that he remembered when a friend called "Lill-Pelle" was trying it out at the airfield at Skarpnäck; "We got in there without permission, and "Lill-Pelle" jumped into the dragster and started a burnout. A guard at the airfield came running, yelling that the car was on fire. We left, and the guard became furious."[1]
Later on, Bo "Gamen" Sandberg bought the dragster. He bought it right before the Hot Rod Show in Stockholm. CG Björk was there when Gamen came to pick it up; "I remember that Gamen said that he wanted to borrow the paint box so he could add some flames for the show. He made it all within one hour. It was amazing to see it, he was extremly skillfull." CG believes the roadster was powered by a Pontiac Rocket engine when Gamen bought it.
Later on, the dragster was owned by Bo "Gamen" Sandberg. This version featured a 475 hp Buick engine and a 1947 Ford transmission.[2]
