1925 Ford Model T Modified originally owned by Lancers member C. F. Roberts. June 2, 1946 Roberts ran the modified at El Mirage. It was powered by a 21 stud Ford flathead, and Roberts managed to run 109.750 mph with the car. Roberts later sold the car to fellow Lancers member Doug Hartelt of Anaheim, California. Doug changed the body and engine, and took the car to an SCTA Season Championship[1] setting the B/Roadster class record with a speed of 135 mph.[2] The engine was fit with Evans heads and dual carburetors.

Doug did ok for himself during the 1947 SCTA season. His Class B Roadster with a Merc flattie with Meyer heads, Navarro intake and Smith & Jones cam propelled him to first in class at three events starting on May 5 with a speed of 126.05 mph. On July 6 he turned 125.20 mph. On August 10 he ran 123.79 mph but the meet was canceled due to weather. Later that month on the 31 he went out and ran 128.20 for a new class record. In September he turned 126.05 and in October 125.34 mph. All this added up to him carring No. 1 on his car for 1948.[1]
