According to the Big Book of Barris this photo was taken at the Renegades Rod & Custom Motorama in 1959.[1] But since the Rod & Custom Magazine’s Dream Truck was Wrecked in 1958, the photo has to be taken at the first Renegades Motorama held in 1958. George Barris displayed the wrecked version on some car shows, but then with a pretty smashed up left side.

The first annual Renegades Rod & Custom Motorama was held in 1958 at the Long Beach Muncipial Auditorium. Backdropped with colorful displays and soft music atmosphere, the show drew some ten thousands enthusiasts. The exhibit lasted four days.[2]
