Lee Nichols' 1934 Ford
1934 Ford 5-Window Coupe restyled by Lee Nichols of Oakland, California. Lee always admired the British MG, but couldn't afford one, so he decided to construct an imitation of one instead, based on a 1934 Ford. Lee removed the top, welded the turtle deck shut and cut away enough metal to make room for a rear seat. Lee padded and pleated the interior, including the door sills. He constructed a removable top from electrical conduit tubing. The top and interior were covered with Versilan plastic; side curtains slipped into the doors. Lee did all of the work on the car himself, with the help of many friends.
