John D'Agostino's 1957 Cadillac
1957 Cadillac Eldorado owned by John D'Agostino of Discovery Bay, California. The car was originally owned by Gene Autry, who in 1957 bought it for his wife. John found it in Pittsburg, California, 5 or 6 blocks away from his dad's house.[1]
Known as "Starfire", John's Cadillac was restyled by Bill Hines and Jimmy Farcello. Jimmy chopped the top on the car before Bill Hines shaved it, leaded the headlights and tailfins and fit it with a custom made bullet grille. Bill also gave the car one of his signature Candy Apple Red paint jobs. He crushed synthetic diamonds that he mixed into the paint for a special effect.[1]
