Joe Graffio's 1941 Ford
1941 Ford Convertible restyled by Jarret Metal Works and Barris Kustoms for Joe Graffio of Downey, California. Joe bought the car off a used car lot on Figueroa Street in 1947. Joe purchased the car for $900, he drove around around stock for a while until he brought it over to Jarret Metal Works where the top was chopped 3 inches. Carson Top Shop fabricated and installed a white padded top. Joe added a set of Flipper hubcaps. Later on, Barris Kustoms filled in the middle grille, shaved the hood and removed the antenna. The car was also lowered. George Barris painted it Opalscent Maroon with gold fleck in it. The interior remained stock. Three years later, he drove up to Bob's Big Boy in Burbank where the owner's son offered him $6000 for the car. Joe was about to go in the service and accepted the offer.[1]
