11.09.2024 - Bill and Bob Glazier's 1953 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible - The Candy Wagon. Old custom originally restyled by Barris Kustoms for the Glazier brothers from North Bend, Washington. John and Bill purchased the car in 1956 and brought it to Barris Kustoms in 1958, where George Barris and Dean Jeffries collaborated on the design. Emerging from the Lynwood shop in Candy Apple Red with custom scallops and pinstriping, the car featured numerous standout modifications. These included extended fenders with stacked quad headlights, a continental kit with a molded gravel shield, and extended rear fenders housing four 1956 Packard taillights. Additional touches like a narrowed 1954 Chevrolet grille bar, shaved hood with 96 louvers, and a lowered stance completed the custom look. In June of 2024, the car resurfaced for sale on Hemmings, listed by the sons of one of the original owners. Chip Foose later helped the brother promote and restore it, aiming to preserve and honor its Barris Kustom legacy. The Oldsmobile was relisted in November 2024 with an asking price of $500,000.
