Hans Ola Christensen's 1947 Buick
1947 Buick Sedanette owned by Coupe Devils member Hans Ola Christensen of Rakkestad, Norway. Hans Ola required the Buick in the year of 2008. The car had lived its life in the US almost all it's life until 2005, and it was original dark green. He drove with it a season as it was, but when the winter came, it was time for a change. So when the spring of 2010 came, the Buick appeared cleaner than it newer had been before. Hans Ola removed the side marking lights on the rear fenders and the gas filler-door. The hood was modified by removing the ornament and reshaping the lower portion of the front hood so it matched the contours on the fenders. Headlight rings from a 1952-54 Merc was adapted and frenched to the fenders. The seams on the front fenders were filled, and the parking lights were removed. The door handles were discarded, and dummy spotlights were added. The ornament on the deck lid was removed as well, but the handle was retained. The dashboard and rims received some gold flake as a christmas present. At the second annual Coupe Devils Rod & Kustom Bonanza the fuel-pump stopped working, however an electric unit was installed at the place.[1]
November 12, 2011, fellow Coupe Devils member Kjetil Kvipt helped Hans Ola chop the top on the Buick. The chop was done as a club gathering, and Sondre Kvipt, Ole Kristian Espeland and Olav Kvipt assisted during the chop. Up front, 2, 3/4" inches were taken out of the a-pillars, lowering the roof about 2 inches. The rear of the roof was lowered 4 inches. Hans Ola spent the winter welding the roof and the rear end finished. The taillights were removed, and relocated in the bumper guards. Parts of the stock lenses were used to make the new ones. On May 12, 2013, Olav Kvipt and Hans Ola began prepping the car for paint. It took 4 and a half day for the duo to get the body work done in order to paint the car. On May 15th, Olav painted the car Jet Black in a truck wash hall.
