Gary Overby's 1940 Ford
1940 Ford Convertible owned by Tacoma Drag-Ons member Gary Overby of Tacoma, Washington. When Gary bought the car it was already sectioned, chopped and shaved for trim and door handles. History was unknown for the early years of the car, but all work had been done in lead and the car had been bronze at one time. Gary blocked and painted the car, replaced the chopped top and installed an Oldsmobile V-8 that ran three Stromberg 97's. When Gary replaced the engine, he made a new exhaust for the car.[1]
