Gary Overby's 1940 Chevrolet
1940 Chevrolet Coupe owned and restyled by Tacoma Drag-Ons member Gary Overby of Tacoma, Washington. Gary's coupe was channeled over the frame. The wheel openings were radiused, and the top was chopped. The old inline six engine were pulled out and replaced by a brutal Oldmsobile V8. Dick Page recalls that Gary had a can-do attitude, and he were not afraid of cutting up his cars. Gary made his own dropped axle for the car in his school welding class.[1]
