Engelhardt Løchen's 1929 Ford

Greger Strøm and Engelhardt worked together at Lillestrøm Bilcentral. Løchen had a 1929 Ford Model A roadster that he raced, and one of Arvid Johansen's Record heads wound up on his car. Taken at Lillestrøm Bilcentral, this photo shows Greger and Engelhardt as they are working on Engelhardt's engine. 1929 Ford Model A Roadster owned and raced by Engelhard Løchen of Oslo, Norway. Engelhardt's Model A ran a Record head, Nife carburetor, and a Bosch magneto.[1]


Engelhardt raced the Ford at Jarlsberg Landbane 9 September, 1934. The race was held by Tønsberg Automobilklubb. Engelhardt ran in "Class 3," for sportscars over 1500 ccm, and he came first in class.[2]


Engelhardt raced at Vingersjøen 20 Februar, 1938. He ran in "Class 5," for cars over 3000 kbcm, and was beaten by Arvid Johansen in his Ford. Arvid was the fastest contender around the track, making a round in 1 minute and 20 seconds, achieving approximately 90 km per hour. There was also a straightforward track. Engelhardt ran in "Class 5" here as well, and in this competition he came first in class, beating Johansen.[3] The next weekend Engelhardt competed at Øieren 27 February, 1938. He ran in "Class 7," and was beaten by Arvid Johansen.[4]
