Jack Runyan's 1939 Ford
1939 Ford convertible originally owned by Jack Runyan of California. In 2016 Glen and Forey Wall told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that Jack used to hang out at State and Hope Street near Huntington Park; "He bought the car brand new at a Ford dealer in South Gate." Jack sold the car to Emil Dietrich of South Gate, California in the mid 1940s, at the time it was nosed and decked, and the running boards had been removed. Chrome panels covered the frame and the holes in the fenders. The license plate was set in, and it ran flipper hubcaps, a single spotlight, and a 1941 Ford rear bumper. Glen and Emil painted the Ford blue with lacquer in Emil's garage. "A good looking blue," Glen told Sondre. This iteration of the car ran 1941 Buick trim on the fenderskirts and 1940 Ford headlights.[1]
