Duke Hallock's 1928 Ford
1928 Ford Model A Roadster owned, built and raced by Duke Hallock of Fullerton, California. Duke began to strip down his roadster as early as in 1930 in order to make it go faster at El Mirage. In 1937 Duke was running his roadster with a Model B 4-banger engine fit with a Cragar OHV-convertion head, a combination that set fast time of the year with a 118.42 mph SCTA record at Muroc on one of the last meets before the Army took the vast dry lake and turned it into the Edwards Air Force Base. The engine was also featuring a 2-port intake, 4-port exhaust head, Winfield carbs, and a Pete Bertrand cam. The car was also fit with a chromed hood.
