Debby Porter
Debby Porter is the daughter of race car driver and custom car builder Chuck Porter. She was born June 15th in Hollywood, California. While she attended high school, the staff understood that she was mentally-gifted and she was enrolled i a program with minors who had an I.Q. of over 140. She earned a lot of awards for her artistic abilities and went on studying at Golden West College where she majored in Theater Arts. Debby is a well known singer and it was while attending Golden West College that her singing career began to bloom, performing in many of the college's productions. After graduation she returned to Hollywood to concentrate on her singing and acting career.[1]
In Hollywood she was introduced to many music and movie producers, directors and stunt coordinators. He first break was doing stunt work for the movie "North Dallas Forty". Soon she was working permanently on the a television show called "Fall Guy" as stunt double for Heather Thomas. Her stunt career quickly began to take off and she was doing stunts work on "Knight Rider" and "Dukes of Hazzard". During her career as a stunt woman, she has doubled such stars as: Glenn Close, Beverly D'Angelo, Suzanne Sommers, Barbara Eden and Elvira.[1]
At the same time, she developed her craft as a Country music vocalist. She studied with vocal coach Mark Forest and most recently Ron Anderson. Debby grew up with country music during her childhood, her father's favorite artists were country-swing bands like Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys.[1]
Debby has created two of her own band, there is "Debby Porter & the RE-porters", going under the Country-Rock genre and a blues band named "Trainwreck". Debby writes her own material and collaborates with other writers including Country artist John Schneider, who appears on Debby's demo tape with her singing "Please Be Now", Debby's songwriting has been awarded as well. She has performed for Jerry Lee Lewis' Annual Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and she has done a lot background vocal work for many country-rock and pop acts in the Los Angeles music scene[1]
After her father died, she began searching for her father's old truck which debuted in 1955. She was able to buy her fathers old truck in 2006.
