David restored Buddy Alcorn's 1950 Mercury for Kurt McCormick. He completed the meticulous task in 2002.


David Conrad of Kirkwood, Missouri. David has been interested in hot rods and customs since 1955, when he got his first Rod & Custom magazine at 10 years old. "My first and second cars were stock Model A's," he told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2019. Since then he has owned several hot rods, customs, and lowriders with hydraulics.


David has been a friend of Kurt McCormick since 1963, and he restored his 1954 Cadillac, 1940 Mercury, 1950 Mercury, and 1932 Ford. He also did some finish work on his 1941 Cadillac.
