Butch Thornton's 1955 Buick
1955 Buick owned by Butch Thornton of San Diego, California. The car was restyled in the 1980s, and Roger Honey, a friend of Butch, chopped the top on the car. In 2015 Roger told Kustomrama that he was helping Butch learn some custom skills.
Roger painted the car Candy Copper for Butch. Not long after he painted it, Butch had a heart attack and died. His wife sold the car, and the new owner changed the wheels and tires.
The car ended up in the Mid-West somewhere, and according to Roger it went trough a thrashing machine. Some years later it ended up back in San Diego, where Fred, another friend of Roger bought it. It was black by then. One Thanksgiving Roger and Ted Miller helped Fred tape it off for some new Blue Pearl Flames down the front and side of the car for a complete different look.
Fred sold the car to someone in Utah.
