Bill Christensen's 1932 Ford
1932 Ford Tudor Sedan owned by Bill Christensen of Norwalk, California. In March of 2022, Bill's little brother, Keith, told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that Bill built the car at the age of 16 in 1953. "He totally tore the '32 apart, down to the frame, and built it up from there. Including a superb build of a Flathead V-8." As a side business, while he was in high school, he used to port and relieve Flathead engines for everyone, "which added a ton of horsepower to the 59-A and 8BA Flathead engines. Everyone near and far used to bring their Flatheads to him, and he would port and relieve the engines for them. It added a giant amount of horsepower to those Flathead engines." The engine in Bill's '32 was a 3/8 X 3/8 Mercury Flathead, which was a bored and stroked version of the stock flathead. "And boy was it fast," Keith recalled in 2022. After the frame-up build was completed, Bill gave the car a super mirror finish black paint job in their backyard. It was dressed up with wide whitewalls, which was popular at the time.[1]
