A. J. Lanier behind the wheel

1955 Ford Thunderbird designed by Colonel USAF retired A. J. Lanier of Arcadia, California and built by Mon-Arc Motors Body Shop in Monrovia, California. The front fenders were reshaped and gently sloped to accept a pair of BMW headlight rings. The custom shaped grille was fit with a tubular grille and the hood was fit with an air scoop and dual ridges. The rear end featured 1959 Cadillac taillights, installed in bullet tipped fenders with concave sculpting. Small accessory light were fit in the rear fins. The interior was stitched by Jeff's Top Shop in Monrovia and the dashboard was outfitted with Stewart-Warner instruments in a new dial cluster. The car was painted Jet-Black.[1]
