Experimental Detroit restyling on 1949 Ford, owned by William D. Kennedy of Detroit, Michigan, manager of the publications department of the Ford Motor Co. Kennedy said the car was used to test rends in public opinion on a transcontinental trip in August 1949. Tire conversion and cloth covered top were generally approved for style if not for utility. The top was actually a hard top covered in cloth, the continental kit was guarded with a center section from a pre-war Lincoln. The bodywork was done by Nick Gorno of Trenton, Michigan.[1]
