Tony Jönsson 1933 Plymouth Coupe
Tony Jönsson from Stockholm, Sweden, purchased this Plymouth 1933 from Ola Nigell in 1968. It was an import from Norway and slightly modified
with a Chevy smallblock engine.
The coupe should be a street-driven Hot rod in the end of the 1960s but didn't pass the inspection, so Tony and his friend Anders Lantz went Dragracing!
The team was very succesful on the strips both in Sweden and England between 1970 and 1975. Tony became the only owner when Anders moved to CA and Funny Car.
The car was slowly modified back to street use but Tony could not resist to keep an injected Chevy big block in the car.
Surprisingly, he managed to get the wild car approved in 1997!
