Tony Alvez' 1950 Cadillac
1950 Cadillac Convertible owned by San Jose Rod and Wheelers member Tony Alvez of San Jose, California. Tony's Cadillac featured a Carson Top and Cadillac Eldorado style fins by G & G Kustoms. Fellow San Jose Rod and Wheelers member Joe Crisafulli ended up finishing the car with scoops on the hood, quarter panels and a gold fire mist paint job. The car was painted at Fred Spitilary's Flying 'A' gas station on the lube rack. In February 1958 Alvez' Cadillac was shown at the 9th annual National Roadster Show in Oakland. The car was entered in the Semi Custom Convertibles class where it also won a price for best in its class. Later on in 1958 Tony's Cadillac was nominated as one of 28 "Top Customs of the Year" by Motor Life magazine.
