Tony Alvez' 1950 Cadillac
1950 Cadillac Convertible owned by San Jose Rod and Wheelers member Tony Alvez of San Jose, California. Tony's Cadillac featured a Carson Top and Cadillac Eldorado style fins by G & G Kustoms. Fellow San Jose Rod and Wheelers member Joe Crisafulli ended up finishing the car with scoops on the hood, quarter panels and a gold fire mist paint job. The car was painted at Fred Spitilary's Flying 'A' gas station on the lube rack.[1] In February 1958 Alvez' Cadillac was shown at the 9th annual National Roadster Show in Oakland. The car was entered in the Semi Custom Convertibles class where it also won a price for best in its class. Later on in 1958 Tony's Cadillac was nominated as one of 28 "Top Customs of the Year" by Motor Life magazine.[2]
