Stig Sinclair 1939 Ford
Stig Sinclair from northern Stockholm got this 1939 Ford DeLuxe in early 1969. The car was in good shape
but Stig lifted the body from the frame to change worn parts.
A stock 283 ci Chevy engine found its place under the hood, the transmission is a M20 3-speed with Hurst
Syncrolock, and the rear end also Chevrolet.
Front brakes are from Buick Electra assisted by a servo from Mercedes.
The interior is fully modified with Volvo P-1800 gauges, Grant steering wheel and power windows from Pontiac.
The Peugeot color 'Havanna brown' was done by Ivve Hallberg who also did some nice striping work.
Stigs brother Björn Sinclair had a 1939 Ford fordor sedan that was painted in the same color by Ivve.
In 1972, several attempts were made to get the car through the inspection at SBP. The station manager wouldn't let the car pass
(new rules were introduced in 1970). Remarks on engine effect, wheel dimensions etc. Finally Stig swapped the Chevy for a 85 hp flathead.
This, together with some wheel interchanging, the car was approved and he managed to get the note "Engine replaced" in the register paper.
So the Chevy engine went back under the hood pretty soon, and the car could pass the nextcoming inspections without problem.

Stigs car lately got a repaint in bright red.
In 2015, due to an incident, Stig decided to do an overhaul of the car. The rear end was changed to a Ford 8", a Mustang II type IFS by Heidts was installed in front,
new steering column with rack-n-pinion etcetera ....
The body had some damages on right rear fender and door. That was fixed by Robban Clausnitzer and repainted so well you cannot see any color fade or mismatch.
Head and rear lights were replaced with modern LED technology.
At last, with help from SFRO or TESTA, Stig managed to correct all data in the registration paper to the true facts. So it was a big relief after all years!
The car was finished in 2019 but wasn't shown much due to the Covid pandemic.
"Stickan" still owns the car (2022) and attends meetings now and then!
