Sig Monson's 1949 Dodge
1949 Dodge roadster owned by Sig Monson of Duluth, Minnesota. The windshield on Sig's car was chopped 3 1/2 inches and then a white padded Carson-style top was installed. The front was restyled by frenching the headlights, shaving the hood and by removing every other horizontal bar in the grille. The rear of the car was fit with fender skirts and a spare tire cover. The door handles were shaved away and replaced by push-buttons. The car was lowered 2 inches by cutting the coils. When the car was featured in Trend Book 105 Restyle Your Car in 1952 it was painted deep metallic purple.[1]
