San Juan Record, January 22, 1953. An article celebrating the success of two San Juan High School graduates, George and Sam Barris, as they displayed their famous custom vehicles at the 1953 Sacramento Autorama.

The 1953 Sacramento Autorama was an automotive exhibition held at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California. Hosted by the Capitol Auto Club, the show was set to highlight the latest trends in hot rod and custom car design.[1]

According to a January 22, 1953 article in the San Juan Record of Fair Oaks, California, the event featured a robust custom car division, where notably, four or five of the most recent custom vehicles by George and Sam Barris were on display. In addition, the exhibition included 200 mile-an-hour hot rods and a famous race car driven to several national championships by Indianapolis-winner Troy Ruttman, further emphasizing the innovative and competitive spirit of the era.[1]
