Roy DeLaney's 1947 Chevrolet Pickup

1947 Chevrolet Pickup owned and built by Roy DeLaney of Lewiston, Idaho. Inspired by the original Rod & Custom Dream Truck, which had been retired by the time, DeLaney crafted the truck in the 1960s. The half-ton pickup incorporated Chevy II headlights, which were neatly recessed behind a custom hand-formed grille shell. The truck’s sleek and futuristic look reflected the mid-1960s custom styling trends. At the time of the build, Roy lived in Lewiston with his first wife, Beverly. The vehicle and its builder were featured in a 1966 issue of Popular Customs Magazine, where the truck was photographed and showcased as a standout example of grassroots custom car craftsmanship.[1]
