Ray Ellis
Ray Ellis of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Ray's dad Andy Ellis was a well known "Taylor of the Stars" and his hobby was Speed Boats. Andy used to buy the US Hot Rod magazines which Ray would "perve" at when he visited his shop in lower Pitt St., Sydney. In 2015 Ray told Kustomrama that he was into surfing in his early teens; "During my early Randwick Boys High school years a young dude named John Lett sat next to me in class. Young John Paton also around at that time and being the little brother of Ron Paton was around Old Fords and Hot Rods almost daily. When I was almost 17 years old and had started my Automotive Engineers Apprenticeship I'd travel by bus to work and I can vividly remember spotting this old black Hot Rod parked in Allison Road Randwick (Just up from the racecourse) and that was the indelible link that burned into my brain and sporned my journey so far."[1]
In 1965 Ray a member of the Romans Hot Rod Association.
