Picho Portillo's 1951 Mercury

1951 Mercury owned by Picho Portillo. The Merc was nosed and decked and all the handles were removed. X-tension Brows made by the California Custom Accessory Manufacturing Company were used to bring the healights appearance more up to date. The grille was kept stock, but some more vertical bars were added. 1949 Mercury bumper guards were added to the front bumper. The fenderskirts were scooped, flared speared and toothed. 1955 Lincoln taillights were mounted upside down, which fits the body contours well. Additional trim spears were added over the fenderskirts. The 1955 Buick trim spear seperated the two tone job which consisted of white and gold. The Merc was radically lowered by C'ing the frame. White walls with Dodge Lancer Hubcaps and dual antennas were added as a final touch.[1]
