The Mid-Atlantic Timing Association was formed on April 5, 1956 by seven charter clubs wanting to promote organized hot-rodding in the five state Mid-Atlantic area. The Ram Rods car club of Silver Springs were one of the charter clubs. Successful ventures of the association include the management and operation of a drag strip at Fredrick, Maryland, the initiation of the annual Baltimore Rodorama Show, and the cooperation with the law enforcement officials on behalf of safety in automotive maintenance and operation.[1]
