1950 GMC Pick Up owned by Marty Martin of Lindsay, California. Martin did upholstery work in Lindsay and Porterville, and according to later owner Mark McDonals the truck was built in Lindsay in the 1950s. The truck was supposedly built by a group of guys called "The Russians." The hood and cab were sectioned 4 inches before it was fitted with molded-in 1953 Buick headlights, Corvette taillights, and a louvered and reshaped hood. The body seems also to have been shaved for most of its chrome. It was decorated with ads for Marty's upholstery shop, and the rear end was dressed up with a 1949 Plymouth bumper. Power came from a pretty hot 292 inline six.[1]

Have You Seen This Truck Before?

In 2017 Mark McDonald of Porterville, California bought the remains of the truck out of a barn in Porterville. The original chassis was missing when Mark bought it, so he put the old truck on a 1954 Chevrolet pick up chassis that had been bagged. Mark is looking for more info and old photos of the truck that he can use to piece it back together. Please get in touch with Kustomrama at mail@kustomrama.com if you have any info on the truck to share.
