Manuel Avila's 1940 Ford
1940 Ford Sport Custom built and owned by Manuel Avila of Tulare, California. All the remains of the 1940 Ford, were the frame, rear end, and transmission. The engine came from a 1950 Mercury. The body was custom built, and the fenders were made from airplane bellytanks. The car was ornamented with portholes, Oldsmobile ornaments, twin air horns and twin mirrors. The car rolled on blackwall tires fit with Lyon hubcaps.[1]
