He bought the Olds at age 19 in 1957, and he spent the next few months turning it into his dream custom. By trading labor with Manger's Upholstery, Paul came up with an unusually attractive job of two-toned rolled and pleated purple Naugahyde.
Gene Boucher's 1956 Ford, The Marquis, was restyled by Bill Cushenbery of Cushenbery Custom Shop. The build took two and a half year to complete, and it made its debut in January of 1962 featuring an upholstery by Manger.
