Long Beach Motorama 2010
The first annual Showcase of Kustoms & Motorama was held September 23 - 26, 2010 at the Long Beach Arena & Marina Green Park in Long Beach, California. The "Showcase of Kustoms" Arena was open for pre 1964 kustoms, and the Motorama was open for pre 1969 american made automobiles. The show was the first show to be back in the Long Beach Arena in 30 years, and it paid tribute to the importance of the Renegades of Long Beach, Car Club formed in 1941 in Long Beach, as well as local "Kustom Painter Extraordinaire" Larry Watson. Across the Arena floor, the ALL Kustoms indoor portion was spatially laid out for 360 degree viewing of those "One of a Kind" dreams. On display in the lobby was the "Vino Paisano" Larry Watson's 1958 Ford Thunderbird, the one that changed it all and is considered to be one of the top 10 Kustoms in it's time. This car debuted in the Long Beach Auditorium 51 years earlier at the 5 day long Renegades Rod & Custom Motorama; The car re-debuted at the 2010 show in its fully restored form. Along side the display there were some Renegades C/C memorabilia. Inside the lobby visitors could meet the "Master of the Kustom" inductees Frank DeRosa Sr. and Dean Jefferies, both long standing legends of the Kustom car world. This years "Kustom Innovator of the Year" went to Marcos Garcia of Lucky 7 Customs.
