The Lehigh Valley Timing Association of Allentown, Pennsylvania was responsible for opening the Corvair Field Drag Strip in Allentown, Pennsylvania. When the drag strip opened up in May 1955 it was the only 1/4 mile drag strip on the east coast.[1]
