Lars Torngren 1938 Ford Club Coupe
This Street Rod was a project car by the Colorod Magazine starting in 1973.
Lars Torngren, brother of Colorod editor Sture Torngren, found and bought a 1939 Tudor object for 1.300:-.
The body was in bad shape so the brothers swapped to a 1938 Club Coupe keeping the frame from 1939. The Club Coupe is a bit longer than the Business Coupe
enabling a small rear seat.
The chassie was restored and upgraded with a Chevrolet rear end, automatic transmission from Oldsmobile, and a newer 100 hp 59A flathead was installed.
The project was featured in Colorod Magazine from no. 3/1973 to 1/1974.
The car was approved by Svensk Bilprovning in January 1974.
It has been used very frequently by Lars over the years.
