John W. Britton's 1949 Ford
1949 Ford Club Coupe owned by John W. Britton of Corona, California. In 1956 John's Ford was featured in Rod & Custom November 1956. This version featured tunneled 1953 Mercury headlights, and 1954 Chevrolet taillight lenses. The lip portion over the top of the taillight was cut so it could house the larger Chevrolet lenses. The hood and trunk were shaved, along with the handles and most of the chrome, before the car was pinstriped all over. The doors and trunk latches were operated electrically, and the upholstery was done in Naugahyde.[1]
