1956 Ford convertible owned and restyled by Jerry Koenigsmark of Lakewood, Ohio. Jerry's Ford was known around the Lakewood area as "The Onyx."[1]

Jerry began the build by nosing it, decking it, and replacing the door handles with solenoids. The back was then dropped 7 inches, and the front was dropped 6. Lakes plugs and fender skirts gave it an even lower appearance before the wheels were changed for 14-inchers. Jerry dressed it up with dummy spots, 1953 Buick portholes set into the hood, and taillights made from Plexiglas, 1959 Cadillac taillights, and Corvette spinners. Once the bodywork was done, it was painted in a 1958 Oldsmobile Tropical Mist lacquer with 3-toned purple scallops. The interior was done in blue and white Naugahyde with white rugs. The engine was hopped up with a triple carb setup, a 3/4 cam, and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird distributor.[1]

Once completed, the Onyx was featured in Custom Rodder September 1960. According to the article it had been entered in many local shows, taking home a lot of trophies for Jerry.[1]
