Jerry Cole's 1953 Mercury
1953 Mercury owned by Jerry Cole of California. Jerry's Merc was nosed, decked and shaved for door handles, giving it a cleaner and sleeker appearance. The scoop on the hood was made function-able and the headlights were molded. The stock side trim was retained, but the lower trim spears were 1956 DeSoto units, separating the color scheme of blue and white enamel. The bumper was reworked, removing the dagmars and installing extra teeth, the lower part of the bumper was painted same color as the body. The rear fenders were reworked to accept the 1954 Mercury taillights. The top of the fenders, hood and deck lid were pin striped. Jerry fit the car with Oldsmobile Fiesta hubcaps.[1]
