Jason Wheeler from Ontario Canada was born with a dremel in one hand, and an airbrush in the other. He started kustomizing Hot Wheels at an early age. Taking them apart, combining them with a lot of other stuff, before he put them back together again. 20 years later Jason is taking the 1st place in the pro class at the Hot Wheels Convention in Irvine California, building the most outrageous die cast hot rods and kustom cars.

As long as it got wheels, Jason is satisfied. Jason has found a way to combine his passion for art, with his passion for car related kulture. He has done it all, sculpting in clay, stone and wood, pottery, life drawing, photography and much more. His passions have helped Jason evolve into a metal mangling maniac. Even though Jason is working in all scales, from 1/64 to 1/1, most of his creations starts from Hot Wheels . Lately Jason has also advanced to designing, molding and casting his own creations in metal. On his website:www.wheeleershotrods.com you can buy casts of his VW Drag Truck, the Stream Liner and the Cab Over Engine.

After 3 months of hard work, Jason won 1st place in the hot class at the 5th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Chicago with "Big Dirty". Big dirty is a Cab Over Engine truck built from 2 casts. The front features 40 Ford fenders with hand made light shells. The front was closed in and a new grill applied to the bottom for a new look with the help of the small bumpers. The mirrors where shaved off and the doors now open. The hand made visor has been drilled out and the front window on this also opens. The interior features an upholstered seat with a spring that has foam around the bottom of it. The doors and roof are done in brown leather, with a horn line, door locks and window cranks. A new dash, steering wheel, gear shift and carpet finish off the inside. The rear bed is hand made and features a 57 Furry rear bumper and tail lights also a nicely detailed hitch. The rear wheels are custom white walls. There is a hand made frame that features a differential, driveshaft, headers and exhaust. Attached to the truck is also a hand made trailer with a red '40 Ford pick up. The '40 Ford is also full of details, such as hand made frame, fire wall, front leaf spring and floor with a drive shaft hump. To top it all off, the pick'em up truck has a working dip stick!!! With this rig, Jason was also the first person ever to win the best paint award at the Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Chicago with a flat paint.

Jason is currently in the process of planning a 1/1 life size creation. The build will consist of a 1928 to 1934 roadster or closed cab pickup. After seeing his Bonneville ready Hot Wheels White truck equipped with Cadillac Dagmars, I'm really looking foreward too see this build evolve. In the meantime, we have to look out for wild creations crossing the Canadian border hunting for grand prizes.
