Janne Bellander's 1931 Ford Roadster
One of the first Hot Rods in Sweden was built by Janne Bellander, a 1931 A-Ford Roadster that was modified bit by bit.
A 59AB 100 hp flathead was installed, tuned with twin Strombergs. 3/4 race camshaft, stroked mainshaft, Edelbrock heads and larger valves.
Brakes and rear end from Ford 1947 and Hudson Terraplane steering box.
The top and interior were made by Håkanssons Sadelmakeri in Stockholm.
Janne had some problems using the car in ordinary traffic as the engine tended to go hot. Instead it was used frequently on the race track in early 1960s.
Over time, the Roadster became less competetive on the racetrack so Janne got himself an Allard race car to run instead.
The fenders on the A-Ford were sold separately and the car itself was sold to the USA. Further destiny is unknown. [1]
