Gates Auto Body
Gates Auto Body was operated by Sam Gates. After working for Link Paola in Link's Custom Shop in Glendale, Sam went on to open his own little shop in Pasadena in 1954. According to Spencer Murray, his own 1947 Ford was the only custom car Sam ever built. In addition to his own Ford, Sam also chopped the Rod & Custom Magazine’s Dream Truck. Sam also started sectioning the car, but this job was completed by Valley Custom.[1]
