1949 Mercury owned by Ernie Collins of Castro Valley, California. Ernie's clean Merc featured frenched headlights, taillights integrated in the bumper guards and a custom floating grille. The front gravel pan was molded to the fenders, the hood was shaved, peaked and had its corners rounded. The deck was controlled by a pushbutton. The gas filler door was welded shut in order to get a cleaner look. The car was lowered both front and rear. Dual spotlights and fender skirts were added.[2]
