Erik Lind's 1950 Chevrolet
1950 Chevrolet owned and restyled by Satan's Angels member Erik Lind of Livermore, California. Erik bought the car in March of 2011. It was supposed to be a driver, but due to some issues with the brakes and suspension he started working on it almost immediately. After stripping it down to bare metal, the top was chopped 3 inches up front and 4 inches in the rear. The front end was restyled by installing a custom bumper, made from a 1956 Buick front bumper. 1957 Ford Ranchero headlight buckets were frenched in, the hood was nosed and peaked, and a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette grille was installed. About 100 hours of modification went into the front bumper alone. The body was shaved for most of it's chrome, including the deck lid and door handles. Modified Pontiac belt-line trim was installed to compensate the shaved body. The rear end was fit with a set of tunneled 1949 Ford taillights and a sectioned and smoothed stock bumper. A 1949 Chevrolet license plate surround and custom made exhaust bezels with stainless tips that were custom made for a Harley-Davidson were installed. Power comes from a modded 235 Chevrolet inline-six that Erik hooked to a T-5 tranmission. AccuAir air ride controls the ride height. Chrome reverse Stockton Wheels with shannon cones and Coker American Classis Radials tires were installed. Once the bodywork was done, the car was painted cream with a candy faded green roof and scallops. The build was completed in 2013, and Erik has won several awards with his car, inlcuding top honors at the Style Kings 2013 car show, and "Top 3 Early Custom" at the Cruisin' Nationals. In August of 2013 Erik became a member of the Satan's Angels car club.[1]
